QUALITY FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Quality processes in higher education are mostly based on accreditation of programs and of institutions. While accreditation ensures quality assurance which helps higher education institutions to achieve their academic goals and to focus on the needs of students and other stakeholders, it is most often seen as the job of a small group of people in the organization. Yet quality is actually both the job of and the well-being guarantee for everybody in the institution. Quality is also the strongest tool for attaining sustainability in the institutional processes and successes.

QUALITY FOR SUSTAINABILITY WORKING GROUP RULES AND REGULATIONS

EURAS Quality for Sustainability Working Group (EURAS QforS WG) is formed to make use of quality tools to embed and realize sustainable development principles in the strategic, academic, and organizational processes of member institutions.

THE OBJECTIVES OF QFORS WORKING GROUP ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Foster institutional programs and approaches on the use of quality tools for sustainable development goals.

Provide leadership training and mentorship.

Support capacity building projects in member institutions for integration of sustainable development principles in strategic and organizational levels.
Facilitate cooperation among member institutions for peer review and peer-to-peer learning.

Leadership and strategic management are vital to both quality assurance and sustainable development. Project ideas are reviewed by experienced members, and inspiring implementations are shared among members. Thus the working group grows as a learning and continuously improving body.
